NOTICE OF VACANCY AND PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT
TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees of the Yuba Community College District has provisionally filled the vacancy in Trustee Area 3. Eric Pomeroy, who had been elected as Trustee of Area 3 on November 8, 2022, passed away prior to the beginning of his term, thus creating a vacancy.

The Board of Trustees has appointed Rita Andrews to fill the vacancy by provisional appointment, at a special meeting of the Board on January 25, 2023. This provisional appointment is effective immediately. Ms. Andrews will take the oath of office at the next Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

This provisional appointment shall be effective until the next regularly scheduled election of district governing board members, unless a petition is filed in the Office of the County Superintendent of Schools within thirty (30) days of this provisional appointment containing a sufficient number of signatures and meeting the requirements of Education Code section 5091. If no petition is filed, then on November 5, 2024, the next regularly scheduled election date, an election shall be held to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term.
