Yuba Community College District (YCCD) Board of Trustees, YCCD Foundation Board of Directors, and Chancellor Shouan Pan are seeking an Executive Director of Advancement – a visionary leader dedicated to advancing District mission through dedication, creativity, and long-term commitment to the role.
Chancellor Pan is seeking a student centered and community-oriented leader to help generate private and public financial and community support for YCCD, an institution that aspires to strengthen and uplift our region in close partnerships with the District Foundation Board, faculty, staff, alumni, governmental, educational, business, and community leaders.
The Executive Director of Advancement will work to align institutional goals with fundraising and foundation operations to maximize impact, collaborate with employers, community organizations, and stakeholders to support student success initiatives, and work to secure funding and direct resources toward sustainable high-impact academic programs. The YCCD and YCCD Foundation seek a dynamic leader who will foster strong internal and external relationships in support of the region’s economy and workforce needs.
District and Foundation Leadership
The District is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Trustees, each of whom District represents a different geographic area within the District. A student trustee is elected by the students at each college and are the official representatives of the student body. The district’s senior leadership team is made up of a committed group of educational leaders dedicated to the District’s mission to provide all individuals in our diverse communities’ access to high-quality, affordable higher education that is responsive to student and employer needs.
The YCCD Foundation is made up of a 13-member Board of Directors that includes professional, business, and philanthropic community leaders, as well as key Yuba Community College District administrators and Governing Board representatives. The Foundation Board meets quarterly and represent communities of the District, overseeing Foundation finances, securing charitable gifts, and providing support for college programs and services.
The successful candidate for the Executive Director of Advancement position will benefit from joining a cohesive team with continuity of leadership at the Board and administration levels.
The District spans eight counties and nearly 4,192 square miles of rural, north-central California. Yuba College and Woodland Community College offer degrees, certificates and transfer curricula at college campuses in Marysville and Woodland, educational centers in Clearlake and Yuba City, and through outreach operations in Williams. Annually, the District serves a total of13,000 students across the northern Sacramento Valley.
Position Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the District Chancellor, the Executive Director of Advancement provides overall leadership and management for the Advancement Office and is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive advancement program for Colleges and the District. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising, development, alumni, community relations, and Foundation-related activities. The Executive Director works closely and collaboratively with Colleges and District leadership teams and District Foundation Board in the advancement of the shared mission and strategic goals of Yuba Community College District.

Under the direction of the Chancellor, the Executive Director of Advancement will collaborate with the Foundation Board, college leaders, and other community partners to pave the way for ongoing student access and success by forging partnerships with outside entities, including community-based organizations and employers.

Under the direction of the Chancellor, the Executive Director of Advancement will collaborate with the Foundation Board and community and regional partners, to develop resources to achieve significantly improved student outcomes by implementing well-designed institutional changes at scale and ensuring they are embedded for the long term.

Communicates and listens to community partners, faculty and staff to ensure strong relationships between the colleges and communities served to address student success and workforce needs.
