Yuba Community College District (YCCD), in line with guidance from county public health officials, lifted its indoor face covering mandate. However, YCCD strongly recommends everyone – students, faculty, and staff to wear masks while indoors regardless of vaccination status. Free face coverings are available in classrooms and public areas.
Yuba Community College District no longer requires employees to show proof of vaccination or a weekly PCR test to be physically present on a YCCD campus. YCCD strongly encourages everyone to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with appropriate booster and test regularly. Indoor Mask GuidanceAs the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, YCCD provide an update on changes to the Yuba Community College District’s mask requirement. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH)’s new guidance is a strong recommendation that all persons, regardless of vaccination status, continue to mask while in indoor public settings and businesses. Therefore, effective March 11, 2022, the YCCD mask policy is updated to strongly recommend that all students, employees, and campus visitors wear a mask when in any indoor setting. The update to our policy removes a requirement for students, staff, and faculty to wear a mask indoors although it is encouraged, especially in large group settings. YCCD has implemented numerous safety mitigation efforts to ensure the safety of all students, employees and campus visitors. Faculty, classified staff, students, and visitors should continue to self-screen for illness prior to coming onto any YCCD campus. The District will continue to monitor COVID-19 positivity data, state and local health guidance, and other information and provide updates as they become available. It should also be noted that some programs such as Allied Health, are subject to more rigorous requirements and rules such as those for healthcare settings.
