District Offices News

Meet Our Staff!

Faaizah Akhtar: Foundation Administrative Secretary

Faaizah Akhtar joined the District in May 2024 and has been making a difference as the Foundation Administrative Secretary.

What inspires Faaizah most about her work is knowing she directly helps students achieve their goals. By offering financial support, the Foundation supports students attend community colleges, which can be a vital steppingstone for many.

A Passion for Books and Adventure

In her free time, Faaizah is an avid reader and a collector of books for her growing personal library. A unique tradition she follows when traveling is visiting local bookstores to pick up a book from each destination.

Her love for adventure doesn’t stop at books. On her bucket list? Skydiving. She’s already ziplined in Lake Tahoe and had a spontaneous trip to New York City in 2021, which included iconic experiences like watching the Time Square New Year’s Eve ball drop, visiting the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.

Fun Facts and Life Mottos

Did you know Faaizah shares her August birthday with three of her siblings? That’s right—four siblings in the same birthday month! Her friends would describe her as outspoken, easygoing, and someone who always stands up for others, with a great sense of humor to match.

When it’s time to unwind, Faaizah enjoys watching “New Girl” and “Modern Family.”

Guided by her motto, “Your fear will control you if you don’t confront it,” Faaizah approaches life with courage and curiosity, making her an invaluable part of the Foundation team.
