COVID-19 FAQs

Will I have to wear a mask on campus?

Effective March 11, 2022, the YCCD mask policy is updated to strongly recommend that all students, employees, and campus visitors wear a mask when in any indoor setting. In January 2022, the California Department of Public Health recommended that people upgrade from cloth face coverings to either surgical masks or KN95/N95/KF94 disposable respirators. Please be advised to wear a well- fitted mask for 10 days after an exposure event.

I received a positive COVID-19 test result, do I always need to report it?

DO REPORT positive COVID-19 test results from tests performed at any sites. You will need to fill out the "YCCD COVID-19 reporting Form" https://forms.office.com/Pages/DesignPageV2.aspx?origin=ShareFormPage&subpage=design&m2=1&id=ED7uUiXsN02_oHyJmRjp_Z6PBL-6aFFEsFIYxdxMRodUQk0zMjA4QUE2Sjg3MFNaTjFHVTI4WU1MVi4u&analysis=false"

What is a Close Contact?

Close Contact is defined as someone who shares the same indoor space (400,000 or fewer cubic feet per floor ) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset until the time the patient is isolated.
