As part of the District’s Values, YCCD embraces transparency and clear, honest communication. The Monthly Highlights intends to communicate to the District community major approval actions the Board takes at the monthly Board meetings. Special Board Meeting Study Session: 
The Board had a special study session presentation on Information Technology. You can see the presentation and additional information linked here. 

 

Special Recognition:  
Woodland Community College Employee Spotlight: April Heras, Assistant Director for EOPS/CARE/NextUp & CalWORKs 

 

Adopted Resolutions: 
The Board adopted the following resolutions:  

  • Resolution in Honor and Recognition of Veterans Day, November 11, 2024 
  • Resolution in Honor and Recognition of Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month

Approval Actions 

  • Approved: Employment of Vice President Student Services at Woodland Community College – Ariana Velasco 
  • Approved: Employment of the Interim Vice President of Student Services at Yuba College – Karissa Morehouse 
  • Approved: Employment of Interim Associate Vice Chancellor Human Resources – Devin Crosby 
  • Action taken: The Board held public comment on District and CSEA initial proposals and adopted the initial proposal from the District to CSEA Chapter #283, initially “sunshined” on September 12, 2024.  
  • Purchase Approval of Fitness Equipment – Sole Source National Fitness Campaign LP 

 

Next Board Meeting 
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Governing Board is November 14, 2024 at Lake County Campus, 15880 Dam Rd Ext, Clearlake, CA 95422.
