The last issuance of Measure J funds, Measure Q, has been used to install a campuswide fire alarm system, necessary for regulatory compliance.  Funds also have been used to upgrade the exterior of buildings, most of which were built between 1962 and 1966 and still had the original stucco, paint, wood trim, and exterior doors.  Bond funds were used to remove and replace broken stucco, rotten wood trim, and install energy-efficient doors and windows to improve building insulation and reduce utility costs.  The project also included recalking around doors and windows to protect against mold, weathering, and insects.
